Volunteers are a very important part of the Hospice program. They not only supply emotional support and companionship, they are also there to help family members at this critical time. Volunteers are assigned upon request and availability to the families served.
While different patients have different needs, some common areas of volunteer help are:
- Companions for the patient and/or caregiver
- Respite for the primary caregiver
- Availability during the 12 month bereavement period
